Saving Sight partnership between PATH and The Lighthouse provides eye exams and eyeglasses at no cost to those in our community who cannot afford them. The program was started in 2011 after a survey identified almost 500 clients in need of eye exams for conditions that can lead to blindness if left untreated.
Smith County residents without Medicaid Insurance can apply for the eye care program through PATH at 402 Front Street in Tyler.
The program is funded by community donations. We welcome community partnerships, corporate sponsorships, individual gifts and all fundraising ideas. Call Saving Sight Community Relations Director Melissa Lanier at 903.590.4339 for more information.

The biggest fundraiser for the program is the Saving Sight Golf Tournament. In 2011 the event was held at the Cascades Golf Club and raised over $25,000 in donations. From our mini-golf clinic students to our golfers and sponsors, everyone had a great time! The Saving Sight Golf Tournament has been scheduled for September 24th, 2012 at the Cascades with returning special guest Jeremy Poincenot, World Blind Golf Champion.
